Certified HOUSEBAND

JOINING ME in this journey is...

DONALD PAGULONG
- A certified "houseband" who is an expert in doing all kinds of household stuff... A liberal-minded father to three wonderful children: Karen Mae, Meryll Diane and Kevin Clint and a cool hubby to a beautiful wife, Rose Marie. An alumna of FEATI University, graduated with a degree in BS Electronics and Communications Engineering. Currently, a preacher at Glory to God Baptist Church, Victoria, Laguna.

A blogger at night and a lover by day.

Also known as, Papaleng proudly claims that there's nothing special about his personality. He's just a simple man who contents himself with what he has. He believes in this Tagalog saying

"Kahit mahirap ka, basta totoo ka sa iba, mabubuhay ka".

Meaning... Even if you are poor, just be true to other people and you will live life decently. People may sometimes be judgmental but the kindness of heart is felt even without impressing others.

These particular biblical principles guide him in his journey through life... That humanity needs to keep motives right, for God looks at the heart.

"All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord." - Proverbs 16:2
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrew 11:1

He simply loves being with his family because they are his precious gems. He showers them with his utmost tender loving care. He even dismissed the idea of accepting any overseas job opportunity like in Singapore, Australia and Japan. He has NO REGRETS whatsoever in turning those down because he wants to be with his family 24 hours a day 7 days a week. He never wanted to be away... not witnessing every little step that his children take while growing up and never wished to depart from his wife... not offering her his warm intimate attention.

Meet PAKOY... the heir to the throne
Meet PAKOY... the heir to the throne

According to him...
"Being a "bread winner" is just 50% of your responsibilities, the other half is to spend quality time with your children. Remember, financial stability will always be at hand but embedding good morals and virtues into your children's heart is the most significant part of being a RESPONSIBLE father."

I've learned that one of Papaleng's passion is writing poems so, I made one exclusively for him entitled... Uniquely, PAPALENG

There’s this humble man named DONALD
He’s no Disney character
Nor a billion-dollar estate developer
But the ruler of his house and its every corner.

He’s fondly called “Papaleng
"PAPA" which means father
Who’s always available anytime, anywhere
Just call his name and he’ll come rushing over.

Lechon Kawali is his favourite dish
The crispy “balat” makes his mouth water
But don’t serve it with beer on the side
His blood pressure may shoot up... so beware!

Light Blue is his favourite color
Like a bright morning in a summer sky
It symbolizes trust, wisdom and loyalty
Intelligence, calmness and tranquillity.

“Meet Joe Black” is his fave movie
It starred Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins
I wonder where he got his son’s name, Kevin Clint
I guess I have to ask him ‘coz I have no hint.

There are three lovely ladies in Papaleng's life
Karen Mae, Meryll Dianne and  his most beloved wife
Because of these women, he is contented
Because of Rose Marie... he's committed.

"LENG" is the last four letters
of a term of endearment,
DARLING
dropped the "I" and replaced with "E"
Now, it's clear to you how he got his name...
PAPA plus LENG is

    2. I have always found it very interesting to know the person behind the name. Do you already have one featuring yourself?
Oh and thanks for considering me an "authority" and hope to live by the expectation.

    1. Your being simple and unique person made this post an interesting read. You're living your life SIMPLY and you never let COMPLEXITY overrule you as a person.

It's always my pleasure Sir Donald :)

  3. I am wowed! I've met Papaleng in the flesh once and I'd say, once is not enough to see right through him but being with him for a few hours was remarkable. He is a person you would want to be with and whenever you're with him, you'll forget life's letdowns. I have learned from his daughter KM that it was her who called him "Papaleng". Pinauso kumbaga, hihihi! Two thumbs up to you, Papaleng. Keep your feet always planted on the ground. I consider you my second Dad, hihihi!

Hands down to this beautiful article. Keep them coming!

    3. The truth is... I've never met PAPALENG in person, Ms Lainy but there are people who possess such pleasing character like him who demonstrates kindness only through his words and how he treats online acquaintances. In this blogosphere world, we just know each other by name and it's hard to determine genuine goodness and purity of heart.

    4. It's no different when you put a face behind the blogs. The blogs are indeed a replica of the blogger. So what you see is what you get, ika nga. That's the case with Papaleng as well ;-) Sobrang groovy and cool.
